Casa Las Encinas
Large and very comfortable house that makes the most of the uneven mountain terrain and opens to the landscape from the inside. Made up of two buildings that are reminiscent of two haystacks, its spaces are harmonious and warm, with the sun entering the house almost all day long and with natural materials such as wood used for the roofs, floors and walls.
One accesses the house on the upper floor, which has three bedrooms divided over the two buildings. The main bedroom has a living area with a sofa bed, a sleeping area with a 160 cm double bed, a dressing room and its own bathroom with a shower. The other two bedrooms have two single beds, and one of them also has a mezzanine with two mattresses. They share a full bathroom with a bathtub.
Walking down a staircase with a glass roof, one reaches the lower floor, with a spacious living room with a free-standing fireplace in one of the wings and the dining room, kitchen and a bathroom with a shower in the other wing.
The entire house is surrounded by a landscaped garden, with lots of aromatic plants. At the main entrance of the house, on the upper level, is a flower garden while on the lower level there is a large pergola with tables and, facing north, a long bench with tables under the shade of an ash tree. In front of the west façade, and facing the living room and dining room, is the salt water pool, with an overflowing basin and granite edge. It measures about 10 meters long by 2 meters wide and is surrounded by sunbathing areas.
The house stands on a large private property at the foot of the Sierra de Gredos, in the lush La Vera valley, at a 10min drive from a beautiful preserved medieval village that has a wide offer of shops and restaurants, and near beautiful mountain rivers with rock pools where one can have a refreshing swim in summer.
